VCu provides individualized instructional services to Regional Center clients in the Los Angeles area when authorized on a case-by-case basis. Families outside the Los Angeles area may also inquire and provide contact information for their local agency so VCu can explore possible service authorization. Services support learners who need help organizing information, communicating understanding, and applying language and academic skills in functional contexts.
When Learning Difficulties Affect Everyday Participation
Learners may have difficulty understanding language, organizing a response, remembering a sequence, explaining what they know, or applying academic concepts during everyday activities. These difficulties can affect their ability to follow directions, communicate understanding, complete multi-step tasks, and participate with greater independence at school, at home, and in the community.

VCu strengthens the underlying language, thinking, and organizational skills that support learning and everyday functioning. Instruction begins with concepts the learner already understands—or establishes the necessary foundation—and creates a structured path toward more functional and independent use

Referral and Service Options
VCu accepts Regional Center referrals and service authorizations for approved instructional services. VCu collaborates with families, service coordinators, and other professionals to address identified goals, monitor progress, and provide written progress information when appropriate.
